Oh Smile and Pray | 2013 | custom printed balloons, nitrous oxide.

Inspired by William James’ writings on nitrous oxide and a mondegreen of Roy Orbison’s “In Dreams,” the installation consisted of custom printed balloons filled with nitrous oxide and littered around the gallery on the occasion of a group show. Viewers were invited to consume the contents of the balloons during the opening, leaving refuse and the sound of laughter in their place.
